Our Classroom Norms
We work hard to practice these things everyday. When we are adults, we will be ready for the workplace and life!
Behavior Policy
Our school is a wonderful community of learners. We work together to assure all students feel safe, secure, and loved within our walls. To do this, our class follows simple behavior norms that we compile together. We will respect each other and our ideas, we will help each other to reach our goals, and we will solve problems positively if they occur.
As with all groups of people, there are sometimes bad choices made by members of our little society. When we make a bad choice, we understand that there are consequences. I use Class DoJo for rewarding points for expected behaviors. The students have a code for you to use to join our DoJo and get updates and communications with me. Each Friday, the students will get a copy of the weekly sheet for you to see and sign.

Homework Policy
Homework means many things to many people. In a classroom of project/problem based learning projects, it is difficult to assign homework that is meaningful and helpful to teacher and student. Many of the skills we learn in class are taught in ways that are difficult for parents to understand. Learners learn much differently than they they did even 10 years ago. Because of that, homework has to change to reflect those differences.
Your child has a mailbox in class and is able to collect important papers there. They visit the mailboxes daily. Please ask your child about the mail they bring home each day.
- Each day, your child is required to read for at least 40 minutes per day and keep a log of the reading. The log is collected every Monday.
- There may be a math lesson that has homework with it. This job will be something that has been taught in class and is not new information.
